The Thicks is a small, untamed area of degraded and ancient oak trees on the edge of the medieval private parkland of Staverton Park in Suffolk, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The remnants of the old oaks are being overtaken by vigorous young holly trees but retain a magisterial and evocative presence of their own.
